Passage View Motel

The Passage View is awesome! This was the 2nd time we stayed at the Passage View Feb 24 - 26th. It was a short notice booking and Christina and Rod booked us a pet friendly ground level room and made everything so easy and stress free. We always have felt so well taken care of and valued clients. I use a walker and also my mom is elderly. Same as last time, they reserved a parking spot closest to our ground level room and gave us the easiest access room. When we arrive, they tell us just to call so we don’t have to go into the office. Rod brought out the key and carried our bags into the room for us and assisted me with my walker. His assistance was so awesome. Both Christina and Rod obviously love what they do and it sure shows. They are so kind, helpful and accommodating and go above and beyond. They are a huge reason why we came back. This hotel would not be what it is without them. The ocean front view is awesome and all rooms have the ocean view. The rooms are clean, pillows and beds are super comfy, the rooms have all you need. The ground level room also has the sliding glass door that goes out onto a patio, with an ocean view, a grassy area perfect for my little weiner dog and also a path to the beach below as an awesome option too. We arrived on Friday and then on Saturday there was a big snowfall. Before the snow removal had arrived, Christina shovelled a path from our room to my car so my mom and I could get there easily and safely (also for my walker) and she also cleared all the snow off my car. I couldn’t believe it!! I was so impressed and grateful. Anything we needed was provided immediately and with a smile and warmth. The day we were leaving, Christina and her mom came to our room and put our bags in my car for us and we had a good chat and said goodbye. It felt like family. To the owners of the hotel, we gave 5 stars on everything except only 4 stars on the room as the rooms could be brightened up with new bed spreads. It is the only thing my mom and I would like to strongly suggest is to replace the dark red 70’s flower print bed spreads with new updated and nicer bed spreads. It would make all the rooms look brighter and more modern and appealing. We would love to see this upgrade next time we come back as we found them really old and made the room seem very dark and from the 1970s. I really think this upgrade would also increase the amount of clients/reservations. With a new look with new bed comforters, the pictures online and on the website would make such a huge difference too. I am sure it would increase your business and probably result in more bookings and no vacancies even in low season :) We will be back again soon and will for sure stay here again. I hope the owners know how valuable and amazing Rod and Christina are. They make this hotel what it is! Many thanks Rod and Christina and her mom, see you again very soon!

I was in town unexpectedly and needed a place to stay at the last minute during peak tourist season . I called the Passage View Motel and the manager went out of her way to find me a room. Turns out I needed to stay a few days longer and once again the manager found an opening for me. I was surprised at the nightly rate, very reasonable considering the rooms are 25 feet from the ocean! The rooms themselves are spotless, the furniture is a bit dated but fully functional and clean. Downtown and the hospital are within walking distance and there is a pub just down the road a bit. I highly recommend Passage View Motel.

What a great small motel! The rooms are directly on the water, with balconies on the second and third floors (first floor rooms have patios). The plastic chairs on the balcony are not the best, but there is a comfortable chair located right in the room at the sliding doors to the balcony. Rooms are clean, comfortable, and have kitchenettes. I highly recommend the Passage View. If you must have the luxury of a Hilton property, you will not be happy. If you want a room with a fantastic view in a quiet location, stay here!

The housekeeping staff are very friendly and helpful. Christiana is friendly accommodating and very kind. While the Motel is older it is very clean. We stayed twice over a 7 day period. One interaction left me unhappy. I was unloading my suitcases Rod (manager) called my room. Told me I was parked in a NO PARKING Spot. Move it or be towed. I went out right away. I apologized to the man bringing in freight. He said it was no problem at all. I moved my car right away. I did not see the NO PARKING on pavement. It was very faded. Both times we stayed there people parked it that spot. I did not mind moving but I did not appreciate how rude Rod was to me. Kindness goes a long long way with better end results.

If you’re looking for a clean, comfortable and affordable motel with a million dollar ocean view, this is the place to stay!! The managers, Rod and Christina are very nice people. Be sure to ask about the little slot machine in the corner!

Stayed here a couple of times while scoping the area for properties; our booking was always last-minute and the manager managed to have a room every time. Location is fabulous, right on the water with no roads to cross. Rooms were super clean and beds comfortable. Management is very friendly and runs a tight ship - price was good too. Fully recommend this place.

Needed an emergency stop. Christina and staff more than helpful. Nice clean beds and comfortable. Wifi, hot water more than adequate. Coffee tastes good. Also offers ocean views and park nearby. Our dog does not shed. Pet friendly. Used our own towels for our havanese. No AC in our room as we did not need it. Others may have AC

I just checked in last night. Staying for 6. Most accommodations in the area charge over $200. Here $149.00 gets you a kitchenette and your own private balcony overlooking the water. I can see stairs going down to the beach! Some reviewers whined about the place being old and run down. Well, so am I, vintage 1943. All I see is everything is clean and functional. I am very pleased.
